ZModeler v2.2.2 Release notes (4. August 2009)

Postby Oleg » Tue Aug 04, 2009 12:16 am

This evaluation of ZModeler requires installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package with ATL Security Update (28 July 2009).
You can download it from Microsoft website using the link below:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=766a6af7-ec73-40ff-b072-9112bab119c2&displaylang=en.
(You should download and install "vcredist_x86.exe" regardless of 32 or 64 bit edition of your Windows OS).
Some users reported that it's preferable to pick "Run..." directly in your browser, instead of downloading and running from your PC.

I appologise for such an inconvenience!

ZModeler v2.2.2
This version was build with upgraded Microsoft Visual Studio components and is not compatible with previouse versions. You should not use any modules from this version in previouse builds and vice versa. You should download zmodeler2.zip from the site rather than updating all modules via auto-update feature, to have an upgraded ZMAutoUpdate tool too.

There are no distinct features in this release, apart from latest updates you have downloaded with auto-update tool.

This release includes a GTA4 import/export filter.

Zmodeler 2.2.2 on Vista x64

Postby Todd Ector » Sat Aug 08, 2009 7:25 pm

On my computer running Vista x64, I had to install the 32 bit update to get zmodeler to run again.

Small suggestion

Postby Tomek » Sat Aug 08, 2009 11:43 pm

Oleg, you should add something to select polygons on the view for example,
when I use (in future) "DIR SELECTOR" and select all polygons on the "right view", then I can see selected only right polygons of the cube or the building. It is used on Stefe-m col editor II.
That's what I mean:

there will be a lots of posts "I can't select polygon anymore!!!" when users will try to select back-faced polygons. There could be an option for "no back-face selection" probably.

Why do I need to download this. My laptop updates all the time. If this was important I would have it already. I like zModeler for 18 wheels of steel games. I did download it. Had 2.2.1 working just great. When I updated it stop working. I down loaded this. It starts up & now will not take the Registration Code. So now I can't use zModeler & has a worthless program with Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package with [i]ATL Security Update (28 July 2009). If it was something I need it would have been with updates on my laptop. Yes I did try to reinstall both zModeler & Registration Code. I tried this over & over. Not working.

I think before you release something you should test it. Should not come with strings. I would like to keep zModeler not other programs.

Where can I get zModeler 2.2.1 setup file.

Believe me or not, I have no idea on this subject. Windows Update have downloaded new security update for Visual Studio and from this moment on, anything I build with my visual studio got updated. I haven't requested this "feature", I haven't confirmed any agreement on such a behaviour, but Microsoft thinks they "know the best way". Of cause I test stuff before releasing, but my computer was "updated" and there were no signals that certain additional MS libraries are required for other users. Once this was found, I recommended to redownload whole zmodeler2.zip file rather than updating all components via autoupdater.

I guess you can:
a) delete "Shared\CodeLib.zmx" file and run autoupdater to get a clean version of this file
or
b) download http://www.zmodeler2.com/files/zmodeler2.zip
and register it with your registration key.
or, if you like to
c) download http://www.zmodeler2.com/files/zmodeler211.zip version 2.2.1

P.S. all zmodeler modules are configured with "Not Using ATL", I really don't know why result build of zmodeler files got affected by this "ATL security update".

Oh yes ;) pretty sure. This has been discussed already.

let me guess, you downloaded Zmodeler with registred illegal key, everything worked fine but you updated Zmodeler to get wft import/export filter. As soon as you wanted to try it out you discovered that you need to enter the key again, you did that and import doesn't work :D:D:D Am I right?
