ETS Model Alpha in ZModeler

Postby tobiaski » Tue May 19, 2015 11:22 pm

Hello Oleg,

I am still using ZModeler2 for rendering, but I have problem with Alpha Channels. See image below:

The problem is that the grey parts are over the tree parts. Do you have solution for this problem?

In ZModeler 3 everything renders fine, at least the alpha does.

Regards and thanks in advance.

Beside alpha blending, toggle on alpha-testing too.

Thank you for your answer, Oleg.

Still, the image is the same, even after configuring alpha testing. Can I do something else besides enabling alpha testing?

Also, in a scene I made the alpha for the fence renders OK (you can see the warehouse through fence), but the DAF in the scene is partly visible. How is this possible?

Thank you for your time.

this issue relates to the order of drawing geometry. All transparent and semitransparent materials should be rendered last. Additionally, transparent polygons/objects should be sorted so they render farthest to nearest. Game engine might perform these tricks transparently, so you could see your models Ok in game. ZModeler3 has this kind of option for material named "Render last".

Thanks for your answer Oleg. I have another question:

When I export prefab from ZModeler3 to ETS/GTS format, it exports PPD structure instead of PDD structure. Can I do something about this?

Happy to hear from you :)

No. The prefab export in ZModeler is updated to the very latest version of ETS2 which is not compatible with ETS/GTS.
