Hi, whenever I click on Material Editor or Select->By Material the program shows a "stopped working" error and closes. The program also crash (without "stopped working" message) when I try to import a mesh or z3d project file. What can be done? I've tried to add a DEP exception, update my video card driver, DirectX 9, Visual C runtime packages and other things to solve the problem, but the program keep closing. Any help are welcome.
Do you have a textures browser in ZModeler2? This looks like a missing directX 9.0c installation to me. You don't need an up to date DirectX, instead you need a specific versions of DirectX libraries to be installed: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... px?id=8109
try different settings on "Settings -> Rendering -> Device" page. Especially, try to disable "Antialiasing" there; then restart ZM. when you open materials editor, do you see material there before crash occurs? also, have you tried to open Textures Browser and load any texture file manually?
Most of crashes in texture browser / materials editor are likely DirectX 9.0c June2010 package being missing. This is especially the case if you don't have "Textures Browser" and/or when it is unable to load textures.
