Adding weights help

Hi everyone, so the problem i'm having is that i added three vests to my sheriff ped and i copied the weights from the original vest to the new vests but it worked on only one vest. From what i see in game the other 2 vests have taken on the weights of the duty belt. I've tried recopying the weights from the original vest,replacement vest, and even the uppr body, but same issue, they take the duty belts' weights. How can i manually add weights that will only correspond with the replacement vest or uppr body. Thanks in advance. F.Y.I. The vests are binded to the bones.

bind mesh to a skeleton, pick a desired bone and set it as current (right-click, skeleton, current bone). switch mesh to vertices level, pick Rigging\Influence\Paint tool and paint wight of this bone over vertices of belt.

also, you can reduce affection of some bone with the same technique, holding CTRL key down. Use Rigging\Influence\Normalize thereafter.
