Materials Help

Postby Deadspin » Mon Jan 15, 2018 11:54 am

I've created a custom rescue-basket for a mod a buddy of mine is building.

Aside from not being able to figure out how to export a .ydr file, when he finishes it up and exports via 3ds Max the mats have their own glow at night.

How do I solve this? The basket shouldn't be it's own source of light and Materials editing is something I'm still learning.

It's an issue with vertices color. When creating/importing new meshes, the default vertex color is usually white or light grey or something.

Go to surface->Paint and have the RGB channel selected. (Like here: https://abload.de/img/screenshot2018-01-1614ap1t.png)

Now, select all vertices of your object(s), change the color in the Paint tab to dark red (https://abload.de/img/screenshot2018-01-1617hpx0.png) and press "fill selected".

This should fix it.

Much appreciated! That worked like a charm.
