3M Material for clothing and vehicles

Postby fummyxdd » Sun Mar 25, 2018 9:06 am

yo oleg, do you know if its possible to have something like a 3m shader that only lits up when there is a direct light source pointing at it(like a flashlight)? So we don't have to use the emissive shader that stays on all the time.

Some examples:

i think it could be something with very dark diffuse color and bright specular color. and some extra specular settings (probably manually assigned via user-defined options). you can see specular options in OpenIV on More information->shaders->a shader of your choice.
for example, specMapIntMask is assumed to be in range 0 .. 1 with 0 = zero affection of SPECMAP texture and 1 = full affection; however you can create user-defined option named this way and set there value 2 or 3, surpassing game-shader expected value. it can give some shader result math above the default expectations. Same goes to parameter specularIntensityMult.

Hey Funny, can you detail the setup for this type of reflective texture?

vehicle_lights shader(the closest one to give this effect)
and on User-Defined options I add the option ''specularIntensityMult'' with the value of ''100.0''
